Family heritage

Scrapbooking is predominantly about recording our family heritage, right? Sometimes I think we forget that, I love to create pretty pages full of lovely flowers and patterned papers and forget that I am supposed to be recording a history in my albums! This layout - which you may recognise from me sharing many moons ago - was all about that, I interviewed my great uncle about his life and recorded the answers in this text on the layout.

It took me an absolute age to make this page - I'm a slow scrapbooker anyway (give me a card and I can whip one up in ten minutes!) but there was so much detail to include on this page and I was so particular about it (did you know I'm a perfectionist!) but it was definitely worth it, as this is one page of mine that I do not feel has gone out of fashion according to what embellishments and papers are trendy at the time. This is a classic and I still love it!

I've been getting ready for my first cardmaking class in this new series, for this coming Monday so I'm not quite ready with my Stampin' Up announcements to officially mark the fact that I've signed up a demonstrator, but keep checking back as I will be offering a special introductory offer for you all for orders placed from the catalogue, very soon! Wahoo! Stampin' Up celebrations

As of 1st July, I am now officially a Stampin' Up Demonstrator! And very excited too. I will be following with more information soon but you'll be seeing alot more of my stamping projects such as this in posts to come!

Final bookings for my cardmaking class...

This week is your last chance to sign up to my cardmaking class! If you have been thinking of trying some stamping and papercrafts but are not sure where to start, then come along and give it a try - my cardmaking class is on Monday July 12th (7.30 - 9.30pm) and you have until this coming Monday (5th) to book your place. My craft classes are taking place at my house in Essex. If you want some inspiration to revive your crafting hobby, this kit is a good place to start with lovely pastel card and embellishments.

The class will guide you through all of the steps to take home these three cards and a tag, fully completed, plus you get to keep the remaining contents of your kit. In this class you will have the chance to try lots of Stampin' Up! products such as those featured below...

Stampin' Up! products include stamps, ink pads, ribbons, embellishments such as buttons, patterned papers, punches - and they are all so easy to use which is why I love them and use them!

If you'd like to join me, book your place (on the right) today. Class places need to be booked by Monday at the latest. After this date, you can enquire for last minute bookings but these may not be possible as I order the kits in advance.

Picnics and plants

As these cards proved so popular before, I decided to make another batch to boost my stock of cards that you never know when you are going to need! They are very simple but so pretty. I've used a set of stamps from Stampin' Up! for the greetings, followed by the oval punch and the scalloped oval punch, also from Stampin' Up!. The greetings have been raised on the cards using small 3d foam pads, and some organza ribbon tied around the spine of the card to finish. Very quick and easy, and what I love about this Stampin' Up set of greetings is that I can cover almost every occasion with that pack.

Friday night I was treated to a lovely surprise - a picnic, wine and a ticket to the open air theatre in Regent's Park in London. It was a lovely evening, relaxing in the sunshine, we watched 'A Comedy Of Errors' which was also very funny, I'd recommend it!

Finally having a free day Saturday meant that we were able to harvest our first ever garlic! Two thirds of it seemed to grow reasonably well, just small, but we won't know until it's dried out whether it really had grown properly. All this, because we visited a garlic farm in the Isle of Wight!

With blazing sunshine, football and all manner of things, it's been very quiet in blogland, until today when everyone seems to be updating at the same time. I have some blogs to surf!

It's so easy when making a card for a female to always reach for pink, but it never fails! This is a card I put together for someone a few days ago using Chatterbox patterned papers (aren't they lovely!), a Craftwork Cards scalloped panel and an image from the new stamps from Paula Pascual. I love to add ribbon to all of my cards so needed a little pink ribbon for this one, and some very old chipboard letters.

New cardmaking and scrapbooking classes in Essex

Would you like to try something creative and meet like-minded friends? I am teaching a variety of cardmaking and scrapbooking classes which are suitable for all levels of crafters, including beginners, so this is your chance to come along and create some papercraft projects with step-by-step guidance from me. In our cardmaking classes we will use a kit of materials with a stamp set to make a range of coordinating handmade cards. In our scrapbooking classes we will incorporate your photographs into a scrapbook page layout or a mini book in each session.

Pretty Pastels Cardmaking Class

In this class we will be using a pastel cardmaking kit with the ‘My Sweet Pea' stamp set*. The price includes refreshments and everything you need to create three cards and a tag. Rich Razzleberry Mini Scrapbook Class

Date: Saturday 17th July, 1pm - 4pm

In this class we will be making an attractive folding mini scrapbook with space for your own photographs, using a new range of patterned papers and card* from Stampin' Up!. The price includes refreshments and everything you need to create a complete mini scrapbook.

For those new to crafting, you may use my tools if you are attending a class or two to try. All other products needed to complete the class, including the stamp set for cardmaking, will be available for you to use. You may take home any leftover materials from your kit.

Your place will be confirmed to you by email upon receipt of funds. Places usually need to be booked at least one week before the date of the class to allow me the necessary time to purchase kit supplies for everyone.

Quick make birthday card

And a question for you bloggers - does anyone know how to link your blog to facebook, but so that when you click on it, it will take the person to your actual blog home page rather than the 'notes' section in facebook which is what it does to me when I export my blog at the moment. I have a friend who's link I click on and it takes me to the actual blog. It's driving me mad trying to solve it!

Father's Day Card

As it’s Father’s Day coming up this Sunday, I’ve gone for the typical ‘Father’s Day’ stamp from Stampin’ Up. I’ve teamed that with some patterned papers for a simple masculine card, those ones that we always find so difficult to come up with. I used a card for inspiration from Steph in Natalie's team, who I believe used it from a male class by Monica at Stamp With Us, lol, when I went along to some Stampin’ Up training with Natalie and I think the square format is quite effective.

Just a short one for today as I have lots of other things to be getting on with. I finished preparing my first card class at the weekend so I’m looking forward to sharing that with you.
